His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today paid a visit to the ongoing construction of Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie road.
The Governor who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructures, Surv. Moses Teibowei, said he was pleased with the progress so far made on the Angiama-Oporoma bridge construction.
“This is the technical bit of the job, constructing a bridge and I am happy the work is steadily going on, not any one day work has stopped. Just as I was discussing with the company, we have to keep to the timelines of completing the bridge. You know this bridge is fundamental to us as a State and particularly, to the people of Southern Ijaw local government area, one of the local Government area headquarters that you cannot access by road and this is the bridge that will make Southern Ijaw accessible by road, the Oporoma, the headquarters.
“And so, we are very serious in ensuring that this bridge is completed according to schedule. The timeline is known to the contractor, is known to us and we are sure that all things being equal, it would be completed”, Gov. Diri stated.
The Principal Secretary, Government House, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo, was part of the team.
