Information department is a department in the Ministry of Information, Orientation and Strategy saddle with the responsibility of information gathering, processing, packaging and dissemination of government policies and programs, monitoring of media content and getting feedback as well as other sundry activities aimed at giving the state government a positive image.
There are five units in the department, namely; ICT, News, Features, Publication and Library/Archive.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT): performs all typesetting and online duties and liaise of the administrators of the state website.
News: News gathering, processing, packaging and dissemination; Monitoring of media content and analysis.
Features: Writing of feature articles and commentaries.
Publications: Publication of the ministry newsletter (Bayelsa Strides).
Library/Archive: Storage of published materials.
