A new executive to pilot the affairs of the Information chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ for the next three years has been inaugurated.
Those elected as new EXCO of the Information Chapel are Comrade Wanama Dandyson as Chairman, Tekinyo Theophilus as Secretary while Alamene Amaebi Jacob was elected as Assistant Secretary.
Others are Susan Ediaba as Treasurer and Pere Amgbare as Auditor.
The event which took place at the Conference Hall of the state Ministry of Information, Orientation and Strategy began with a Triennial Conference in the morning.
The Conference which featured a lecture titled *Freedom of Information Act: Application and Usage for Information Officers* was delivered by a retired Director of Information in the Ministry, Mr Chris Odi.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of state Ministry of Information Orientation and Strategy, Mrs Jane Help Yaweh commended the Leadership and members of the Information Chapel of the NUJ for the unity and maturity exhibited in handling the affairs of the union.
She urged the new Executive to do even better and prayed for God’s wisdom to continue to guide the new leadership to pilot the affairs of the union to greater heights.High point of the conference was the inauguration of the newly elected Executives.
The Chairman of the state council of NUJ Comrade Samuel Numonengi who inaugurated the newly sworn in exco charged them to abide by the constitution of the union.
Comrade Numonengi also urged them to be good representatives of the NUJ as well as take their responsibilities seriously.Chairman of the Credentials Screening Committee, CSC, Mr Ade Bakare appreciated the Chapel for finding the committee worthy for such an assignment and prayed for a successful tenure for the new executive.
