—–AS HIS PEOPLE HOST HIM TO A RECEPTION IN KAIAMA

The people of Kolokuma/Opokuma trooped out in a colourful manner to host their son, who is the governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri.

Kaiama was the host town for the event that attracted the former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Senator Moses Cleopas, Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ngobere, traditional rulers and other top government functionaries.

Governor Diri, thanked his people for the solidarity and urged all to work with him to bring prosperity to the land.

Speaking in his native Ijaw dialect, the Governor said the reality is that he is the governor and not Chief Timi Alaibe, whom they all supported as a Kolga project for many years.

“That is the reality. I was part of the Alaibe’s project but today another son of Kolokuma/Opokuma is the governor. Let us forget about faction in this small Local Government that God has blessed with a Governor.”

I want to thank the people of Kolokuma/Opokuma who have thought it wise to gather together to honour me. As you have honoured me, you will also be honoured and it is a sign that good things are coming to Kolokuma/ Opokuma and Bayelsa state. Like the chairman of the occasion said, let us come together to make Bayelsa great. That is the only way we can develop and move forward. Kolokuma/ Opokuma will be great, Bayelsa state will be great. There is nothing like faction anywhere, we are all one”, Gov. Diri stated.
