… commiserates, donates cash gifts to them

Bayelsa Governor, Senator Douye Diri has continued his tour of communities affected by this year’s flood.

The governor today visited, Okodi, Ayama, Ayakoro, and Otuokpoti communities in Ogbia Local Government Area of the State to commiserate with them as a result of the ravaging flood that has affected their communities.

Governor Diri also gave cash gifts to the communities that were visited.

The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the leader of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edwin Monday Bubou Obolo, member representing Ogbia Constituency 2, Hon. Gibson Munalayefa, Hon. Mietema Obodor, member representing Ogbia Constituency 1, Rt. Hon. Tonye Isenah, member representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 1, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Bayelsa chapter, Hon.Solomon Agwana.

Other government functionaries present were, the candidate of the PDP for Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Chief Benson Sunday Agadaga, candidate of the PDP for Ogbia Federal Constituency, Hon. Ebinyo Turnah, Commissioner for Women affairs, Mrs. Faith Opene, commissioner for Trade and Investment, Hon. Federal Otokito, Commissioner for Special Duties, Bayelsa East, Hon. Preye Broderick and other top government functionaries.

At Okodi community, the governor gifted a new born baby with the sum of N200,000.

“Today, we have come to first of all, encourage you, and to give you hope in the face of this distress caused by flood. We didn’t come here because of politics, but because our people are suffering and are in distress.

We have come to let you know that your government will stand shoulder to shoulder with you”, Governor Diri stated.
