The Bayelsa State Government has marked another edition of its Women and Youths Empowerment programme in the State.
The programme which is the 10th of its kind took place at the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Yenagoa.
A total of 210 Small-scale business owners were empowered with the sum of N200,000,00 each cash grants, making it a total of 2,100 beneficiaries from the 8LGAs, aimed at boosting the local economy of the State.
Speaking at the event, the State Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy Mr. Ayiba Duba assured that the programme will run until the end of the prosperity government.
Mr. Duba who is also a member of the empowerment committee urged the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Gift keme a paint producer of ward 6 in kolokuma/Opokuma local Government Area, appreciated the prosperity administration of Governor Douye Diri for the empowerment programme across the state and promised to make good use It as the fund according to him will help grow his paint production business.
