… As Delta-born Avwenagha Oshevire becomes new National Champion
His Excellency, the Governor Douye Diri represented by Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor graced the closing ceremony of the National Scrabble championship in Yenagoa.
He announced that the state government is making huge investments in sports to create opportunities and skills for the people.
The Governor also directed the Commissioners in charge of education and sports and youth development to work out modalities to introduce Scrabble clubs in the schools across the state.
In the meantime, Mr. Avwenagha Oshevire beat all other contenders in the Masters Category for professionals to emerge new national champion.
About 300 players from across the country participated in the 3 days event featuring five different categories.
