The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure has informed the Oweikorogha Community that the Assured Prosperity Government of Senator Douye Diri is working to leave an outstanding record of performance in the delivery of people-oriented projects.
The Works and Infrastructure Commissioner, ESV Moses Teibowei stated this when a delegation from Oweikorogha, a Tarakiri Community in Southern Ijaw paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Yenagoa on Thursday, April 24, 2025 to request a road to their community through the airport axis.
The Commissioner explained that the Governor is people-centered and has a mentality of possibilities.
Hence, the Governor is constructing roads hitherto thought impossible thereby carrying out road projects simultaneously across the state, connecting communities that were inaccessible by road.

ESV Teibowei disclosed that clearing for the road to Oporoma had already been completed and that the bridge, spur to Otuan and the road to Oporoma would all be fully completed within this year.
He informed further that many communities are making requests for roads to be constructed to their communities because they have seen that the Diri-led Government is working and ready to work.
However, he noted that Government is prudently managing state resources to ensure that no project started is abandoned.
Responding to the request of the leadership and stakeholders of Oweikorogha Community for an access road, ESV Teibowei assured them that he would take their message to the Governor while adding that he would send surveyors there to know which route will be easier and shorter to connect communities within the Wilberforce Island to the airport road.
Speaking earlier, the Diaspora Chairman of Oweikorogha Community, Mr Temple Igunikeme commended the Prosperity Government for the massive developmental projects scattered across the state stressing that, Bayelsa had not had it this good while opining that even the blind could see the good works of the Governor.
Mr Igunikeme further stated that Oweikorogha Community is a Tarakiri Community in Southern with an agrarian background and as part of the state, they felt the need to approach the government to benefit from the benevolence and infrastructural drive of the Governor.
Hence, he said they appeal for a motorable road to be constructed to their community adding that they would be extremely grateful if that is done.
The delegation was led by the Paramount Ruler, HRH Tukuma Amakedi. Others in the delegation were: the Woman Leader, Chief (Mrs) Alili Abassa; Sir Centre Berefagha; Engr James Brass; Mrs Stella Taribi; Mr Blessing Embiowei and others.
