The Yenagoa Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has applauded the Prosperity Government of Senator Douye Diri for carrying out massive development in the state for the benefit of the people.
The Society of Engineers gave the accolades to the state Government when they paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure at his office in Yenagoa on Tuesday, 22 April 2025.
Speaking, the Chairman of the Yenagoa Branch of the NSE, Engr Jonah Edoghotu noted that the Diri-led government is setting a standard for fast-paced development in the state with the many legacy projects being carried out.
He also commended the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure for properly translating the visions of the Governor in the infrastructure sector into reality.
Engr Edoghotu equally used the medium to appreciate the Commissioner for all the support while also appealing for continuous partnership.



Also speaking, a former commissioner in the Ministry, Engr Emmanuel Frank-Opigo re-echoed the fact that the Government was doing a lot.
He noted that a project like the 25,000 capacity stadium had been the dream of many past administrations but never came to the light of day. Hence, he praised Governor Diri for taking the bold step.
Responding, the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, ESV Moses Teibowei appreciated the NSE for recognizing what the Government is doing and that he would relay the message to the Governor emphasizing that whatever has been achieved is as a result of the commitment and visionary leadership of the Governor and the Assured Prosperity Government.
The Commissioner used the medium to restate government’s commitment towards completing all projects in due time.
Hence, he informed that for the stadium and 9-storey secretariat buildings, 30% mobilization had already been paid and that work had already commenced while adding that 20% is ready to be paid again for the secretariat building to avoid incessant variations and to enable timely delivery of the project.
ESV Teibowei also noted that both the bridge and road to Oporoma would be completed this year while equally informing that contract had been awarded for the clearing and sand filling of Ekeremor-Agge Road up to Ndoro Community.
He said these are aside from the Nembe-Brass Road, Glory Drive Phase 3, roads at the New Yenagoa City GRA and many other projects scattered across the state.
The Commissioner stressed that the Assured Prosperity Government is assiduously working to set a standard and bar for the next administration to surpass for a speedy development of the state.
He equally assured the Nigerian Society of Engineers of continuous collaboration in the advancement of infrastructure in the state while encouraging them to create partnerships that would enable them compete for contracts.
