Members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) in Bayelsa State for a 3-day annual conference, embarked on a tour of significant project sites.
The tour, organised to showcase government’s infrastructure initiatives, was led by the Commissioner for Works, ESV Moses Teibowei, and the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Daniel Alabrah.
Projects visited include: the Government Science and Technical College in Swali, Yenagoa, Akaba-Okodi road project, which, upon completion, would offer direct link between Yenagoa and Ogbia LGA, enhancing connectivity in the region.
The delegation also visited the planned ICT Village, envisioned as a centre for digital enterprise and innovation in Bayelsa, aimed at promoting youth engagement in technology and entrepreneurship.
There was also a stop at the Angiama-Oporoma bridge project, a key infrastructure that would connect multiple communities within Southern Ijaw LGA.
Other notable sites include the Ernest Ikoli Media Complex, housing the Glory FM (the State Radio Station), NDTV (the State TV) and Newspaper Cooperation, where they were conducted round by the Commissioner for Information, Orientation, and Strategy, Hon. Ebiowu Koku Obiyai, and the General Manager of NDTV, Mr. Fred Fabor.
The delegation also visited Zipline, a drone facility responsible for prompt delivery of drugs to rural areas in Yenagoa, the new Commissioners Quarters and the Bayelsa House of Assembly quarters.
