The Ministry of Information, Orientation and Strategy Project Monitoring Committee has been charged to identify government on-going projects in the state, to ascertain their progress in a bid to keep tab on government infrastructural development.

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Ayiba Duba gave the charge while inaugurating a six-man Committee, at his office in Yenagoa.

Hon. Duba who re-affirmed the commitment of the Senator Douye Diri administration to deliver on its campaign promises for even development of the state, said the committee is expected to create a database of all on-going projects from time to time and ensure public awareness on their status.

Hon. Duba listed projects to be visited by the committee to include: AIT/Igbogene Outer Ring Road, Gloryland Drive, Sagbama/Ekeremor Road, Onopa Bridge/Castle Hotel/Gloryland link Road and the Yenagoa/Oporoma Road.

Others are the Tombia section of Isaac Boro Express Way, Tombia Roundabout, rehabilitation and construction of some internal roads in Yenagoa, Elebele Bridge, Igbedi Road, shoreline protection at Odi, Agbere and Isampou communities, as well as the two-storey Media House at Ekeki; to accommodate Radio Bayelsa NDTV and the News Paper Corporation.

The committee which comprises staff of the Ministry of Information, Orientation and Strategy has Dr. Sophia Obi, as Chairperson, Wanama Dandyson, as Secretary and Okotobei Beatrice, Odoni Abel, Michael Atey and Appah Ileimokumo, as members.
