… thanks Jonathan, Dickson for attending
… preaches love, forgiveness
His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today led Bayelsans to the Annual Thanksgiving service which holds every 2nd of November at the Ecumenical Centre, Igbogene, Yenagoa.
This year’s thanksgiving marks the 11th edition since the Bayelsa State Thanksgiving Day Law, 2012 was signed by former Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson.
“I want to on behalf of the government of Bayelsa State, thank the former president and the former governor for still having their people at heart. It is not about the governor or the government, but about the people. If the government here fails, we have failed as a people, and if the government succeeds, we have all succeeded as a people.
As I traversed the flooded state of Bayelsa, there was one instructive thing, and it was the joy, happiness, and hope that we gave to our people as we visited them. The Bible tells us that, in everything, give thanks, and for those who don’t understand, having a thanksgiving during this period of distress is a sure way to call for the blessings of God.
I’m so happy that Bayelsans, both men, women, and youths are here in their numbers to thank God.
As I keep telling our people, anytime we visited, that flood does not have the colour of PDP, APC, or Labour Party, and when the flood came, it didn’t differentiate between who was PDP, APC, or Labour Party, and that’s why as a people, God has brought us here, no matter our political colouration, we must have love and forgiveness for one another, and we will continue to move on as a State”, Governor Diri stated.
Governor Diri appreciate Revd.(Dr.) Paul Enenche and wife, for their attendance and powerful message on ‘God’s mercy.’
