… RECEIVES NEW TABLE TENNIS COACH FOR BAYELSA

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today inaugurated the “Fortress,” a Table Tennis facility in Yenagoa.

The table tennis facility was privately built by the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Table Tennis Association, Mr. Ama-Ebi Ebikpolade Stow.

Governor Diri appreciated the initiator of the project and urged other Bayelsans to invest in the development of sports in the State.

“As you know, sports development is one of the key pillars of our Assured development programme. Sports is one area we can use to remove our youths from crime and criminality.

I would like to appreciate Mr. Stow for his passion to table tennis development in Bayelsa State. I call on other Bayelsans to borrow a leaf from our brother.

For me, it brings a very great pleasure to be here to see what this young man has done. I believe this facility will be so beneficial to the people of Bayelsa State and Nigeria”, Governor Diri stated.

The Chairman of the Bayelsa State Table Tennis Association, Mr. Ama-Ebi Ebikpolade Stow, presented an Italian, Mr. Exporito to Governor Diri as the new table tennis coach for Bayelsa State ahead of the National Sports Festival.

Dignitaries at the event were the Deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, Senator Benson Agadaga representing Bayelsa East Senatorial district, Hon. Michael Ogbere, Deputy Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Obolo Bubou, Leader of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Tari Porri, Chairman Bayelsa State House of Assembly Committee on Sports, Hon. Daniel Igali, Commissioner for Sports Development, Dr. Peter Akpe, Chief of Staff Government House, House of Assembly members, Commissioners and other top government officials.
