… HARPS ON LOVE, HUMILITY

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, immediate past Governor of the State and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Sen. Henry Seriake Dickson and other top government officials today, attended the burial ceremony of the Amananaowei of Ofoni, His Royal Highness, Deacon Auditor Onakpohor, the Ogelle 1 of Ofoni in Sagbama Local Government Area of the State.

Governor Diri in his remark said, love, humility and oneness is God’s only way stressing that every office should be an opportunity to give helping hand to the disadvantaged.

He said, “I have said it at several events, let our offices not deceive us, as a Councillor, let it not put pride upon you, as a Council Chairman, don’t be proud, as a Governor, don’t be proud, as an Assembly member, don’t be proud because one day, you will lie like this.

And so, my dear people of Bayelsa State, Sagbama Local Government Area and our Kingdom, Tarakiri and here in Ofoni, the only way is God’s own way and God’s own way says we should love one another. Wherever we are placed see it as an opportunity to give a helping hand to those who are disadvantaged.

And so, once again, I want to appreciate all of us who are gathered here to give honour to the departed”, Governor Diri said

He died at the age of 69 years.

Other dignitaries present were, Hon. Solomon Agwana, Chairman, People’s Democratic Party, Bayelsa State chapter Members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Barr. Mrs. Biobelemoye Charles-Onyema, Head of service, Bayelsa State, members of the state executive council, Chairmen of Local Government Areas, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo, AGADA IV, Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama Kingdom and Chairman, Bayelsa State council of Traditional Rulers and other top government officials.
