…Frowns at level of Encroachment by Private Individuals
…reiterates govt’s Committment in Housing Subsector
The General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the Bayelsa State Housing and Property Development Authority, Rt. Hon. Tonye Emmanuel Isenah today, went on a tour to sites and properties acquired by the state Government.
According to Rt. Hon. Isenah, the tour was to take an inventory of the properties and facilities owned by the Bayelsa State Government and access their current state and well-being.
On arrival at the various sites visited, the General Manager frowned at the level of encroachment by private individuals who had comfortably built structures on Government acquired lands.
Rt. Hon Isenah, who condemned their action, described it as the height of impunity and immediately directed the legal team of the Authority to summon the erring parties involved for a meeting and further actions.
He however reiterated the commitment of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, in providing quality and affordable housing for the low and middle income earners in Bayelsa State.
“While the Governor is committed in bringing the needed change in the Housing Subsector, I urge every well meaning Bayelsan to desist from defacing structures owned by the State Government” Rt Hon. Isenah stated.
Rt. Hon. Isenah was accompanied by the Heads of Projects, Town Planning, Finance, Audit and other management staff of the Authority.
Some of the sites and facilities visited were, Okaka Housing Estate Phase 2, Yenagoa Shopping Mall Ekeki, Agbura Housing Estate and Ayama Ijaw Housing Estate.
