The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo, received in audience members of ” BEAUTIFUL TREES FOR BETTER FUTURE,” team in his office in Yenagoa.

Earlier, the team led by its Chairman, Chief Okolo Bartholomew, said the team visited mainly to solicit for partnership with the Bayelsa State Government through the Ministry of Environment for its planned( One Million trees in the State) planting to add to the horticulture of Bayelsa State.

Chief Okolo, explained that the team is taking all necessary steps to plant Two Hundreds trees yearly to complement the aesthetic beauty of the State.

In his response, the Commissioner for Environment, who is a proven proponent of green Environment expressed happiness for the visit, thanked them for embarking on the all important Mission.

While assuring the team of Government’s Support on their planned activities, Mr Ololo decried practices abusing the environment such as indiscriminate cutting tree, burning of bushes, the unhealthy use of chemicals for edibles and illegal refining of petroleum products etc.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Diri for supporting the ministry to achieve set goals and assured that Government would not rest on her oars as to put in more efforts to ensure that the environment is reasonably safe for humanity.

The meeting had in attendance the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Bishop Clinton Uncle Korubo.
