The skeptics said it couldn’t be done, but Governor Douye Diri, has proven them wrong.

The face and pace of development in Bayelsa State have changed significantly since the Government of Assured Prosperity took the reign of leadership.

Despite what the naysayers peddle, our people know that the journeys and development issues they have always been forced to navigate or endure are gradually fading away as the most critical problem plaguing our mostly riverine state, the lack of roads, is being tackled head-on.

Indeed, the era of assured prosperity has dawned, and Bayelsans are basking in the euphoria of the greater possibilities that have been achieved with their resources in various sectors as road infrastructures, robust healthcare system, education, skills acquisition, youth and women empowerment, community development and peace initiative.

The consensus on the streets is that Bayelsa State has moved many steps forward for all the good reasons.

From the fast-growing New Yenagoa city with the beautiful aesthetics of several dual carriageways and modern residential buildings, the ongoing construction of iconic 9-Storey State Secretariat building, which is on its way to transforming the landscape of Yenagoa upon completion, to the Bayelsa International Airport, the list of functional, completed, and ongoing projects is mind-blowing. Many Bayelsans have continued to appreciate the massive impact under Governor Diri in just five years in office.

What’s more, every project is adequately funded, and none has been abandoned. What else is proof of prudent management of resources? Thumbs up to this great leader of our time.

Our people are witnessing a new era of transparency and accountability, where every kobo counts and every project is delivered on time and on budget!

The impact of these projects on the lives of Bayelsans cannot be overemphasized. Just as government budget performance translates to direct and indirect job creation, and increased economic activity, the benefits are trickling down on the economy of Bayelsa, and new opportunities are emerging as government programmes and policies receive the required funding and implementation.

The Government of Assured Prosperity is not just building roads; it has built faith in our people regarding the possibility of prudent management of public resources and good governance. And our people know the truth that Governor Douye Diri is a leader and team player who delivers on his promises.
