100 percent success has been recorded in the October/November 2024 Accreditation Exercise conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Bayelsa State Medical University(MU), as all seven programmes presented by the Institution received either full or interim accreditation.
This according to the State Commissioner for Education Dr Gentle Emelah was remarkable as 7-over-7 accreditation victory was recorded, covering Public Health, Community Health, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, Physiotherapy, Optometry, and Human Nutrition and Dietetics underscores the national recognition of BMU as a rising hub of academic innovation, particularly in health sciences.





Dr Emelah highlighted the accredited Courses thus;
● Public Health – full accreditation
● Community Health – full accreditation
● Medical Laboratory Science – full accreditation
● Nursing – Full accreditation
● Physiotherapy – interim accreditation, that’s accreditation for 2 years)
● Optometry -( interim accreditation, that’s accreditation for 2 years)
● Human Nutrition and Dietetics – (Interim accreditation, that’s accreditation for 2 years)
