The Bayelsa State Government has completed the reconstruction of the Ofoni 1 Primary Health Centre in Sagbama Local Government Area, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure across the state.
Commissioner for Health, Professor Seiyefa Brisibe, made this known during a recent inspection tour of the facility. He emphasized that infrastructural development remains a vital pillar in delivering accessible, quality, and efficient healthcare services in Bayelsa.
“Upon assuming office, we undertook a comprehensive facility assessment across the state, including a visit to the Ofoni 1 Primary Health Centre. Today, I am pleased to announce that the centre has been fully reconstructed and is now operational for the benefit of the community,” Professor Brisibe stated.

He reiterated that the administration of Governor Douye Diri, under the ASSURED Prosperity Agenda, is dedicated to establishing a robust and resilient healthcare system. “We remain committed to building and upgrading hospitals, clinics, and health centres, particularly in underserved and rural communities, to close the gap in healthcare access,” he added.
Professor Brisibe expressed gratitude to the residents of Ofoni 1 for their warm reception and ongoing support, reaffirming the government’s resolve to continue delivering impactful health projects across Bayelsa State.
“God bless Bayelsa State,” he concluded.
