The Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, reiterated that the ASSURED Agenda of the Prosperity Government will significantly enhance development in Bayelsa State.
She stated this while addressing Newsmen at some ongoing project sites in the State.
Highlighting Urban Renewal as one of the key points of the ASSURED Agenda, Hon. Obiyai noted that the ongoing projects at the New Yenagoa City, including the new legislative quarters, exemplify Governor Douye Diri’s unwavering commitment to transforming the state.
Also speaking, the Director-General of New Media, Dr. Kola Oredikpe, echoed Governor Diri’s intensions to ensure rural communities are linked by roads. He noted that “Governor Diri means well for Bayelsans and he is deeply committed to their development.”
Speaking at the Phase 3 construction site of the Glory Drive, Engr. Eribo Cliff, Director Civil, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, provided updates on the 7.8-km dual-carriage road project, which includes a 120-meter bridge.
He revealed that the project is at the stone-base stage, with delays attributed to flooding, but assured that completion is near.
The team also visited the Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie Road, where Engr. Carmelo Lee, representing CCECC, reported significant progress on the bridge with 16 of the 17 pillars erected.
He estimated the bridge is 70% complete and noted that piling work would be finalised soon.
In addition, the road to Otuan, spanning 2.67 km, is progressing, with 1.5 km stone-base and 670 meters fully completed.
These projects reflect the Prosperity Government’s commitment to infrastructure development and improving the lives of Bayelsans.
