It was a delightful moment in the weekend when former President Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the State Governor Senator Douye Diri, the Ooni of Ife and other well meaning Nigerians attending the wedding of Shabby Akinola and Angel Adukeh in Opolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The Governor Senator Douye Diri was represented by the Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
The event was truly delightful as the distinguished guests, alongside former President, His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, GCFR, and the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II) were accorded warm reception at the residence of Arch. Harcourt Adukeh, the brides father.
However, it was the kind of occasion the Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo who represented the Governor would have loved to witness from start to finish, but due to demanding schedule, he couldn’t stay until the end. Nevertheless, he left the newlyweds, Shabby and Angel a truly beautiful couple with a few words of advice.
His words:
” Marriage is a lifelong commitment where neither partner should strive to appear perfect or superior to the other. Your partner’s flaws are your flaws; both of you must strive to be united despite each other’s shortcomings and imperfections. In marriage, both partners are permanent mu-mu” forever no one is wiser or better than the other. Your union has been blessed from the very first moment you meet.
