The Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri led Bayelsans and top government functionaries to his administration’s second tenure thanksgiving service on February 11, 2024 at the Ecumenical center, lgbogene, Yenagoa.
Speaking at the Thanksgiving Service, Governor Douye Diri, said God has been with him throughout the first tenure, hence, the successes recorded, adding that, God stood by him to win every battle during the election, as well as ensured that the election was peaceful.
Governor Diri thanked God for His mercies and also for the security and peace that is being enjoyed in the state.
The State’s helmsman also thanked the good people of Bayelsa State for their support and availing themselves for the thanksgiving, noting that he was overwhelmed with joy.
In his goodwill message, former acting Governor of Bayelsa State, Werinipre Seibarugu, appreciated the governor for his commitment towards infrastructural development in education, health and security in the state.
Also speaking, the former Deputy Governor of the State, Gboribiogha John Jonah stated that Bayelsa State has witnessed a good foundation of development laid by the Prosperity Government in its first tenure, pointing out that the Government has interest in the development of Bayelsa State at heart.
In his sermon titled, ‘Why We Give God Thanks,’ the guest preacher, Apostle David Zilly Aggrey of the Royal House of Grace International Church, enjoined Bayelsans to make Thanksgiving a lifestyle because of God’s manifold blessings.
He offered special prayers for sustenance of peace and development in Bayelsa State.
The wife of former president Goodluck Jonathan, Patience Jonathan, Hon. Abraham Ingobere, speaker, Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Justice Matilda A. Ayemieye, Chief Judge Bayelsa State and other top government functionaries graced the Thanksgiving service.
