… as NDLEA Commander decorates Gov. Diri as ambassador on fight against drugs abuse
His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State today received in audience heads of three key security outfits recently posted to the State.
Those who were separately received by the Governor in company of the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, include the Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas, Comptroller, Nigerian Immigration Service, Bayelsa State Command, Mr. Sunday James and the Commander, National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr. Ali Aminu.
While receiving Rear Admiral Abbas, Gov. Diri, urged for a stronger collaboration to sustain the level of peace and security in the State.
“On behalf of the people of the State and the prosperity Government, we like to say a very big congratulations on your promotion and subsequent deployment to be the flag officer commanding the Central Naval Command.
We are sure that you will collaborate with the government and with the people to continue to sustain the peace and the security of Bayelsa State.
For the NDLEA, Gov. Diri, said the state government would continue to support the command with necessary logistics to fight drugs abuse and confirmed that the construction of a rehabilitation centre is ongoing in Ogbia.
Also, the Governor assured the State Comptroller of Immigration of better synergy with state government to create enabling environment for prospective investors.
