The Government of Bayelsa State has observed with dismay the abuse of the newly constructed Etegwe Roundabout by some members of the public.
The road which is designed to help ease traffic congestion in Yenagoa metropolis is now used by transporters, traders, beer palour operators and Trycycle -Keke- riders to carry out their business activities thereby causing heavy gridlocks on daily basis. Such gridlocks are exploited by criminal elements to dispose innocent road users of their valuables.
While wishing all Bayelsans and residents of the State a peaceful and rewarding Christmas and New Year celebrations, His Excellency, the Governor, urges members of the public to cooperate with the Task Force to ensure free flow of traffic and unhindered movement in and out the state during the Yuletide period.
Signed.

On transparency we believe that it is the right of the people of the state, to know what funds accure to the coffers of the state and the various local government councils and how they are utilized.
This is the only way to secure the trust and confidence of the people in whom sovereignty lies. ‘I have directed all local government chairmen to comply with this paradigm shift on the issue of transparency, probity and accountability, to reflect the new Bayelsa we are building.’
