…as former Vice President presents keynote

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today attended the Nigerian Bar Association(NBA) Yenagoa Law Week programme at the Local Content tower, Yenagoa.

Governor Diri appreciated the former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo for coming to Yenagoa to deliver the keynote address and applauded the organizers for a wonderful programme.

Governor Diri acknowledges his commitment to the rule of law and the role of lawyers to the development of Nigeria.

“Firstly, I want to appreciate the former Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo for coming to Yenagoa to deliver the keynote address. I thank Barr. Somina Johnbull and other organizers of the programme for a wonderful job.

I am one person that will always at every given opportunity acknowledge the rule of law and the role that lawyers are playing in the development of our country.

The judiciary is one important organ of government we must all work towards guiding.

For our government, the principal thing about us is the rule of law. This government will continue to work in the rule of law and guide jealously the independence of the judiciary”, Gov. Diri said.

Dignitaries at the programme were the Deputy governor of Bayelsa, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, member representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, Hon. Fred Agbedi, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Matilda Abrakasa-Ayemieye, other State Lawmakers, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Biriyai Dambo, SAN, other Commissioners, and other top government officials.
