Federal Government Presents 500 U-lesson Tablets To Students In Bayelsa State
The Wife of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, distributed Five Hundred U-lesson Tablets to Primary and Secondary School Students in the State.
The Schools comprise both Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools, with pupils and Students between the ages of five through eighteen years, converged at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Yenagoa.
The U-Lesson Tablets to aid the Teaching and Learning Process in Schools across the Country is part of the Educational Empowerment Scheme of the Renewed Hope Initiative RHI in Collaboration with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Wife of the Bayelsa State Governor and Coordinator,RHI, Dr.Mrs Gloria Diri who represented the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, described Education as the bedrock upon which a solid Foundation is laid for an Assured Future, stated that with the unbundling of different Teaching and Learning Strategies through Technological devices has made the Teaching and Learning Process easier.
According to her, the very significant amount of changes Technology has brought, particularly in the use of Smartphones and other devices has enabled easy, faster, simpler access to information.
“There is need to extract the areas that are beneficial to target groups including Children so they harness their intellectual capabilities without distractions from devices not censored.
The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in Partnership with the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, is therefore giving you these Tablets,as programmed for your age to Suit, Improve and Aid your Learning Skills in the School and at Home after School.
Educational Advancement remains a Priority for us and in this digital world, what you need to be at par with your Peers is being provided for you by the Mother of the Nation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the Tablets have been programmed already and different Apps have also been installed so use it for the purposes of reading various Subjects and Soar higher in your academics and make your Parents Proud”.She said.
In his Presentation on the Usage of the U-Lesson Tablets, Mr. David Osumah highlighted the benefits of Tablets to include, Structured lessons, Parental Control features, off line usage, age suitability among others Educational needs,that when fully utilized will boost Academic performance.
He urged the Students to make good use of the Tablet in their specific areas of interest subjects to improve their Reading,Retentive abilities before and during Examinations.
Emphasizing that Parental Control, Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Apps are also available in the U-Lesson Tablets.
In their various Goodwill Messages, Member Representing Yenagoa Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief Ayibanegiyefa Egba, Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State Ministry of Education, Mr.Okene Simon-peter who spoke on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Hon. Dr. Emelah Gentle and his counterpart in the Ministry of Women, Children Affairs, Empowerment and Social Development, Pastor Agnes Oloye, acknowledged the gesture by the RHI,the NDDC for the partnership, noting that the Students have been equipped to embrace modern trends in pursuit of academic excellence.
