The Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, on behalf of the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri received in audience a delegation from the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, Niger Delta University Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State, Yenagoa.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo expressed joy for the visit and welcomed the Delegation from the Department of Geography and Environmental Management from Niger Delta University (NDU) for the courtesy visit to his office.
He emphasized the commitment of Governor Douye Diri’s administration to educational matters and assured them that the government would support the needs of the department.
He appreciated the leadership of the department, Prof. Odafivwotu Ohwo for his thoughtfulness, proactive approach, and foresight regarding the challenges faced by the department.
Senator Ewrudjakpo additionally encouraged the leadership to combine professionalism with a focus on the urgent issues of environmental degradation and climate change confronting the state and expressed belief that by collaborating with the state, significant progress can be achieved.
