His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, has received the new executive of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bayelsa State Council led by the chairman, Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha.
Governor Diri in company of the Chief of Staff, Dr. Peter Akpe, Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, and the Director-General, New Media, Dr. Kola Oredipe, assured the new leadership of collaboration with the media as partners and critical allies of the Prosperity Administration to deliver good governance and entrench public accountability.
The Governor urged journalists to always remain non-partisan and be objective in their reportage, insisting they have a responsibility to promote the good works of his administration across various sectors, foster development, peace and unity among the people.
Governor Diri assured the delegation of his support towards the hosting of the NUJ proposed Bayelsa Media Summit.
