… urges Barr. Okara, to grow varsity from strength to strength
The University of Africa, Toru-Orua, in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State will soon hold its first ever convocation ceremony.
The Chairman of the Governing Council of the University and former Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Kemela Okara dropped the hint when he led other council members and management team to meet with the visitor to the institution and Governor of the State, Senator Douye Diri, in Government House, Yenagoa.
An excited Council chairman also said they had come to thank the Governor for the accreditation exercise that has brought the University to an enviable height.
The Governor in his remark lauded the University for doing so well and urged the governing council Chairman, to grow the university from strength to strength.
“It is interesting and very important that we have met today and listening to you gives me joy, particularly on the accreditation and the graduation of the pioneer set of students from that university. We are doing well as a State, it is not easy, as small as we are, to run State own university and other higher institutions of the number that we are in Bayelsa State.
In attendance were, the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah, and other top government functionaries.
