His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State has received participants of Course 15 of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), Abuja who are on a study tour to Bayelsa State.
The theme of their study is: “Global Climate Change Challenge: Prospects and Priorities for Economic Development and Conflict Resolutions in Africa.”
Addressing the delegation led by the Team Leader, Mr. Didacus Egbeji at his residence in Government House, Yenagoa, Governor Diri raised concerns about socio-economic, security and environmental issues affecting the State.
The Governor noted that the study would help find means to deal with such conflicts arising from oil production involving the companies and the host communities.
“I agree completely that education is key to societal development and things change with education. We need more research works in this direction”, Gov. Diri stated.
The Governor urged them to enjoy the hospitality of the State and expressed delight seeing all the delegates including the women dressed in Ijaw attire, indicating that Nigeria is stronger together in love and unity.
