… describes him as humble, simple
… promises to support widow, family, children
“Tolu is one man people see as a very hard man outside but having worked with him, Tolu is one of the most humble and simplest persons you can be with. Because on all the occasions that we have met one on one, he has always submitted. And up until this moment, it is very hard for me to believe that he is no more.
Tolu died when we needed him most, but who are we to question, we are ordinary mortal. This should be a lesson to all of us who are in politics, as I keep saying, let’s love ourselves, you don’t know your tomorrow.
We have no choice my dear people of Bayelsa, particularly my dear people of Western Senatorial District and Ekeremor Local Government Area, let us love ourselves. Let the death of Tolu be a lesson for all of us. Politics should not be seen to divide us, politics will come and go, but we remain from the same Local Government, from the same Senatorial District.
As a government, Tolu died in active service to the State Government and the State. Therefore, we will support the family to ensure he is properly buried. We will support the widow and the children.
On behalf of the Government of Bayelsa State, the Prosperity Government that Tolu Amatu belonged to and worked assiduously and supported to come on board, and on behalf of the good people of Bayelsa State, we convey our heartfelt condolences to the Tolu Amatu’s family, the widow and the children, ” Governor Diri said.
