Plans are in full swing to relocate Bayelsa State Polytechnic, Aleibiri, to its permanent site.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Emelah Gentle revealed this during a courtesy visit to the institution in Aleibiri. His visit included an inspection of facilities in preparation for the school’s transition from its temporary campus in Elebele.

During the tour, led by the Polytechnic’s Rector, Dr. Wisdom Soreh, Dr. Emelah commended the Rector for his commitment to advancing the institution. He emphasized that the state government’s vision to enhance the education sector through innovation and technology aligned with the ASSURED Prosperity agenda will be further strengthened when the Polytechnic operates at full capacity in its new location.

Dr. Emelah also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the growth of state owned tertiary institutions, assuring that more development projects will be implemented, supported by Tetfund contributions.

In response, Rector Dr. Wisdom Soreh expressed gratitude for the visit and highlighted key areas that require attention to ensure a smooth transition to the permanent site.
