A total of two hundred and ten Small-scale business owners drawn from the 105 Wards across the state were given two hundred thousand Naira (N200,000.00) each, as part of Bayelsa State Government monthly Youth and Women Empowerment Programme in the state.
Speaking at the ceremony which took place at the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, the Commissioner Mrs Faith Opene promised Bayelsans that the Empowerment Programme which started months ago has come to stay, noting that no ward in the state will be left out.
Mrs Opene added that this set of beneficiaries represents September/October 2022 and stressed that it is aimed at ameliorating the sufferings of the less privileged, as well as boosting the status of Small-scale Businesses in the state.
She charged the beneficiaries to be prudent with the funds in their varied businesses.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Thanked Ben of Ward 6 in Brass LGA thanked government for the gesture and pledged to make good use of the fund.
